Melf Resistor is the acronym for Metal Electrode Leadless Face - a leadless cylindrical component that is metallized on two ends. It is designed majorly as a SMD component. Since manufacturing process of MELF resistor is more complex than flat-chip resistor, MELF resistor has its own advantages over flat-chip type. Although flat-chip resistor is cheaper, the Performance/Price ratio of MELF resistor is still better than flat-chip resistor. That's why it is widely used in certain demanding electronic circuits. Power resistors are manufactured in 20W, 30W, 35W, 50W and 100W. Resistance element is electrically insulated from metal heat sink mounting tab. When properly mounted DIRECT's RMG** TO-220/TO-247 packaged power resistors provide up to 50/100 watts of steady state power. These very low inductance resistors are ideal for many industrial applications: power supplies, power controls and inrush/bleeder resistors. DIRECT thin film power resistors are manufactured by depositing continuous and defect free metallic films conferring long-term stability, very low TCR, very low current noise and negligible non-linearity.

DIRECT Electronics' Ultra Precision Resistors offering extreme tolerance resistor has added tighter precision, improved temperature coefficients and extended resistance range resistors in all lines for greater industry support.
Tolerance Precision up to 0.01% and temperature coefficients to 5ppm are now available in a variety of case sizes and on tape and reel for auto-handling. In addition to the standard E24, E96 & E192 resistance values, non-standards are possible. Full lines meet RoHS Directives, MIL-R-10509, MIL-R-55182, and other military grade.
